FOCUS Open House Brings Students, Supporters and Community Together
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, FOCUS welcomed prospective students, community supporters, funders, and friends to our Open House at our new training space at The Factory.
The afternoon gave visitors an opportunity to experience FOCUS up close—learning more about our IT Workforce Training Program, meeting members of our growing team, and seeing the space where our next generation of technology professionals will learn, grow, and prepare for new career opportunities.
FOCUS Founder and Chairman Minister Eric Brockman introduced guests to the program and shared our commitment to providing accessible technology training and industry-recognized certification opportunities to individuals in Baltimore.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet our new instructor, Emmanuel, as well as professionals from the technology field who shared insights about careers in IT and the opportunities available to those willing to learn and develop new skills. We were also pleased to introduce a new program advisor and welcome one of the funders whose support helps make our work possible.
One of the highlights of the day was touring our new training facility and imagining what this space will mean for our students.
More than simply an Open House, the event was a chance to bring together the people who make the FOCUS mission possible—from students ready to begin a new journey to professionals, partners, donors, and funders who believe in creating pathways to technology careers.
And now, those classrooms are no longer empty.
On September 8, our newest group of students—FOCUS Cohort 4—walked through the doors and got to work.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us on August 22 and to everyone who continues to support our mission.
Together, we’re creating pathways to opportunity—one student, one certification, and one career at a time.
