FOCUS Receives $10,000 Grant from United Way of Central Maryland to Support IT Workforce Training Program
Baltimore, MD – Focus on Communities United for Success (FOCUS) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 Neighborhood Grant from United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) for 2023. This grant will support FOCUS’ IT Workforce training program, which provides underserved young adults in Baltimore with the skills and training necessary to secure gainful employment in the IT industry.
“We are thrilled and grateful to receive this grant from UWCM,” said Eric Brockman, Founder/CEO at FOCUS. “This funding will help us to continue to provide essential job training and support services to the young adults in our community. We believe that every person deserves access to the tools and resources necessary to succeed in the workforce, and this grant will help us to make that a reality for more individuals in Baltimore.”
The IT Workforce training program is a 3-to-6-month program designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to secure employment in the IT industry. The program covers a range of topics, including computer hardware and software, networking, cybersecurity, and more. Participants receive hands-on training and support from experienced IT professionals and receive job placement assistance upon completion of the program.
